The Decision on the Amendment of the Decision on Pricing of Medicinal Products for Human Use (“Amendment Decision”) has been published in the Official Gazette dated 23.02.2024 and the Communiqué Amending the Social Security Institution Communiqué on Healthcare Practises (“Amendment Communiqué”) has been published in the Official Gazette dated 25.02.2024. The main changes introduced by the relevant regulations are provided below.
The Amendment Decision stipulates that, effective from 23.02.2024, the value of 1 Euro in Turkish Lira to be used for the pricing of medicinal products for human use will be applied for the year 2024 and no new valuation of 1 Euro will be made for the year 2024. Currently, the value of 1 Euro is 17.55 TL.
The main regulation introduced by the Amendment Communiqué is the re-determination of the sales price thresholds to pharmaceutical warehouses, which are the basis for the public institution discount rates applied to medicinal products for human use. This is now in line with the price thresholds shared in the announcement made on the Social Security Institution website on 21.12.2023. The thresholds stated to be valid as of 25.12.2023 in the relevant announcement and the Amendment Communiqué are as follows:
